2015 Kawasaki ER6-F (aka Ninja 650R)
We took out the ER6-F on the same day as the Honda CBF100F , the Kawasaki is what we wanted to ride most as the bike is positioned to be the natural progression from the Ninja 300, they also share the same seat height. Another bonus is the 2016 paint scheme, which retains much of the lovely Kawasaki green that we like.
The seating position forces you to be more forward and over the bars than the Ninja 300, a bit strange at first, but not unpleasant. The big 649cc twin sounded less agricultural than the BMW F800 GT, which was a good start, the bike wasn't particularly heavy either and manouvered well on the road. Another plus was the excellent wind protection and lack of wind noise when on the dual carriageway. Downside was the power delivery which wasn't as smooth as the BMW.
